A group-buying website is offering UAE residents the chance to find a place in the Bollywood spotlight by buying vouchers to the second round of auditions for a Shah Rukh Khan movie.
The Bollywood brigade, headed by Farah Khan, is offering the Dh30 vouchers for a part in her next Bollywood romantic musical ‘Happy New Year’.
The deal is titled; “2nd Round of Auditions to Act with SRK in Happy New Year + exclusive e-video tutorial & more.”
Twenty-three spots for auditions had been bought by 11am this morning, about 13 hours to go before the deal expires.
The flight (Dubai-Mumbai) cost for the final 10 candidates selected to be part of King Khan’s “one-way ticket to stardom” will be funded by the website, the deal says.
According to the fineprint, auditions are to be done on Google Hangout for selected 500 hopefuls. As per the details, a maximum of 200 ‘customers’ shall be selected by a panel of judges (selected by the producer) while 300 more ‘customers’ will be selected based on public voting that will initiate on the co-branded microsite from the 8th day of the deal period.
The judges comprise movie director Vivek Bhushan a.k.a. Bumpy, photographer Prashant Godbole, and actor Tara Sharma. Online voting will be held until April 29, and the results will be announced on the same day.
The auditions will be held through Google Hangout on May 2 and 3.
After the two rounds of screening, a final 10 contestants will be screened by the director. Once selected, Bollywood newbies will get their “name in the end movie credits”, an “official poster signed by SRK”, and a “certificate of participation signed by Farah”.
Selected candidates will also get an “exclusive e-video tutorial on the ultimate guide to make it big in Bollywood with acting and dancing lessons featuring SRK and Farah Khan”.
