Two men, who assaulted and robbed a hotel employee for not booking a room for them, were arrested by the police when they came to the hotel again after three days to ask for a room, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On March 14, at around 1.50am, MF, 35, Bangladeshi accountant at a hotel, was approached by two men asking for a room.
“We don’t have a vacant room,” I told them.
One of them presented an ID card and claimed that they were CID officers. The hotel employee then insisted that he should show him the ID card in a proper way.
“The two got angry. They beat me and demanded the cashier’s key. When I refused to give it, they beat me again and took my wallet which contained Dh300,” the victim told investigators.
On March 17, at around 1am, the two assaulters came into the hotel again and asked for a room.
“I told them again that we don’t have a vacant room,” the victim said.
However, this time the two gave the employee half an hour to arrange a room, by which time police arrived to arrest them.
