A jobless man is accused of forcing a minor to have sex with him in a case before the Dubai Criminal Court.
The girl is below the age of 14 and the man has claimed that it was consensual and the girl willingly stayed with him overnight.
According to the case before the court, the mother of the girl, identified as HA, at 8.15pm on April 9 reported that her daughter missing from the child’s grandparent’s house in the Al Khawaneej area.
Tracking the girl’s cellphone the police found the number of one AJ.
The sent him an SMS and AJ panicked and dropped the girl off in the parking lot of the Mall of the Emirates.
Using camera footage at the mall the police arrested AJ, however, while the girl was not there.
Police investigations then found that the girl left in another car and the owner was identified as KJ, 32.
KJ told the police that he met the girl in the mall and she went willingly with him to his flat at Mweileh area where he had consensual sex after she told him she is 18-years old.
“The girl is still in my flat,” the accused told the police.
The victim, HA, told the police that she knew the first man AJ through Twitter and she used to chat with him daily.
In her testimony as regards KJ, HA says, the two stayed for half an hour in the mall before she accompanied him to a coffee shop in Jumeirah where he met his friends and stayed until 1am.
“On our way to his flat in Sharjah, he kissed me. In his flat he offered me some sweets and then we went to bed and had sex and after that we slept. The next day, we also had sex twice and after that we had lunch together.
“In the evening, we went to the Emirates Mall and he bought me a dress before having coffee in a coffee shop then we went back to his flat at around midnight.
“In his flat he received a call from the mall asking him to come there and he left at around 1am and while he was away, the police called me and asked me to come down.”
The court will reconvene on June 26.
