An Indian housewife died last week, leaving her three children without proper documents stranded in the UAE, at the mercy of social workers to repatriate the body and to take care of the young boys.
The 39-year-old Indian woman who hails from Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is survived by her husband who is now in police custody as part of investigations about her mysterious death.
Their three children have not been attending school for the past couple of years, and the family, without passports, have accumulated a huge fine for living illegally in the UAE.
The children, all boys, are aged 19, 7 and 8 and are now with the relatives.
The children do not know what happened to their passports, and have approached Indian Consulate officials and the UAE Emigration Department, seeking help for new passports and visa overstay fine waiver.
According to family sources, the mother was not keeping well or eating properly, and on Friday afternoon, she fell unconscious.
Her husband called the ambulance service and the lady was rushed to the Al Rashid Hospital Dubai.
Family members of the deceased said they can’t figure out know what happened to the woman, 39, who lived in the UAE for four years, to die all of a sudden. They said the lady had not had any communication with them for a few months. She came to the UAE with her children on a visit visa and nobody on the family seems to know if they got their residency visa.
“We came to know about the death only on Friday night and her husband said she died of cardiac arrest.
“Only after a post-mortem and the forensic report is released, we will know the exact reason for her death. Her husband is now in Dubai Police custody,” said a family member, who is seeking help to repatriate the dead body.
They don’t know what happened to the passports of the lady and her children.
