An Arabic website has ranked 30 executives of the UAE’s public listed companies on the basis of their pay packages.
The Argaam report reveals 30 members in different UAE companies listed on the Abu Dhabi and Dubai stock markets, who received the highest salaries and bonuses in 2013 in the country.
Let’s take a look at salaries and bonuses of the top 10 executives and what exactly they took home last year.
#1 Dialling up Dh17.27m
The top paid executive in the country is Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, the CEO of telecom operator etisalat, with an annual salary/bonus in 2013 of Dh17.27 million or a per month take home of Dh1.44 million.
#2 Housing in Dh10.6m
Low Ping, former group CEO of Dubai-based master developer Emaar Properties, came second on the list with an annual compensation of Dh10.6 million (Dh883,333 per month).
#3 Neatly tiled Dh7.64m
At No. 3 in the salary sweepstakes is Abdallah Massaad, CEO of RAK Ceramics, with his pay-check last year amounting to Dh7.64 million (Dh636,666 per month).
#4 Fuelling up Dh7.38m
Carl Sheldon of Abu Dhabi National Energy, again a former CEO in the list, took home an amount of Dh7,380,000 in 2013 (Dh615,000 per month).
#5 Brick-by-brick to Dh6.61m
Rounding up the Top 5 is recent newsmaker Hassan Ismaik, former CEO of Arabtec, with a take home of Dh6,610,000 during the year (Dh550,833 per month).
#6 Financing $6.44m
Khalid Jassim Bin Kalban, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Investments got an annual compensation of Dh6,440,000 (Dh536,666 per month).
#7 Capitalising with Dh6.37m
Michael Raynes, CEO of Waha Capital, was next in the rankings, receiving an annual amount of Dh6,370,000 (Dh530,833 per month).
#8 Ringing in Dh5.51m
Next on the list is Serkan Okandan, etisalat’s chief executive of the financial affairs, with an annual salary + bonus package of Dh5,510,000 (Dh459,166 per month) last year.
#9 Buzzing with Dh5.34m
Etisalat seems to really offer great compensation to its top executives, with three of the UAE’s top 10 executives belonging to the telecom operator. Abdul Aziz Al Sawaleh, Chief Human Resources Officer, took home an amount of Dh5,340,000 last year (Dh445,000 per month).
#10 Dining with Dh4.98m
Rounding up the list of the top ten is Ilias Assimakopoulos, CEO of Emirates Foodstuff and Mineral Water, with Dh4,980,000 in salary/bonuses in 2013 (Dh415,000 per month).
