A Pizza Hut delivery boy was seriously injured after his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle at the JSS Private School roundabout near Safa Park, Dubai, today afternoon.
The Indian delivery boy is seriously injured but alive, according to the Dubai Police official at the accident site.
“The delivery boy has been rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. I hope he will survive,” said a police offer on duty.
Another eye witness said: “He probably broke his legs but thank God he was wearing a helmet which protected his skull. I hope he will survive.”
Driver of the vehicle escaped injury but the vehicle’s front side is partially damaged in the accident.
A Pizza Hut customer service agent said she is not aware of the accident.
“There are many Pizza Huts in the area and we have to confirm his branch before making any statements. We will check with all the branches and confirm the person involved,” the customer service agent said.
“We work under tremendous pressure to deliver on time. In heavy traffic and extreme heat, we risk our lives and sometime take the short-cut. Accidents have happened because drivers in the big vehicles cannot spot us in the mirror. We are doing a very risky job,” said a delivery boy working for a fast food chain.
