Six members of a Pakistani family were killed when their car veered off the road and plunged into a valley in a rugged area near Kalba on Saturday before the vehicle exploded and charred their bodies, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
Al Khaleej quoted police sources as saying the car was moving between Kalba and Hellu Valley when it veered away and fell off into the abyss.
“Eye witnesses said they saw the car settling at the bottom of the valley before exploding into flames. They said the car was complexly burned and the bodies inside were charred,” the Sharjah-based Arabic language daily said.
The paper did not identify the victims but said a police report on the cause of accident and their death would be released shortly.
Al Khan fire kills woman
A fire gutted the home of an Emirati in the Al Khan area of Sharjah, killing an 80-year-old woman, on Saturday.
According to a report in the 'Al Khaleej' Arabic daily, a man was also injured in the incident.
The body has been transferred to forensics for investigations, the report stated.
