Residents of Al Ain got a respite from the scorching summer heat as rains, accompanied by thunder and winds, lashed the emirate on Sunday.
The heavy to medium showers resulted in accumulation of water on roads, according to a report in Al Bayan.
Traffic police were on duty at all roads regulating traffic flow and warning motorists of low visibility.
There were some minor accidents reported, without major injuries.
Meanwhile, the temperatures dropped by at least 5 degrees on Saturday in various parts.
An NCMS weather forecast for Monday says hazy to partly cloudy skies, with towering clouds by noon.
Motorists are cautioned of low horizontal visibility, especially in internal areas, due to winds that could blow up dust.
A minimum temperature in mountainous areas is expected to be around 23 degree centigrade while it would hover around 27 degrees in internal areas.
NCMS also advised against unnecessarily venturing into the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman, which are expected to be rough.
