The heat wave that has gripped the UAE may soon be coming to an end, much to the relief of residents, with the country’s weather department forecasting temperatures hitting the mid-twenties in parts of the country.
The Mercury will hit as low as 23-24°Celsius in the internal and mountainous areas, while the coastal areas will hit lows of 26°Celsius in the evenings this weekend.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology for the UAE stated Friday’s weather would still be ‘hazy and partly cloudy’, adding, ‘Some towering clouds may develop over the eastern and western internal areas by afternoon’, which could lead to possible rainfall.
The eastern part of the country has been experiencing rainfall for the past week, with Hatta, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Sharjah and Al Dhaid all experiencing showers and sporadic thunderstorms.
Masafi experienced the highest rainfall during this period, with the NCMS recording 41mm of rain.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds are forecasted in general, which may at times cause rising dust. The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some coastal areas with chance of fog formation.
The weather pattern is expected to continue on Saturday, adding, ‘the sea will be slight to moderate in general in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea’.
