A young Emirati woman died while three of her siblings were injured in an accident on Tuesday morning, police said.
According to Ras Al Khaimah police, the 26-year-old woman OSS died while her siblings SSS, 30, RSS, 24, and HSS, 22, sustained moderate to serious injuries.
Colonel Ali Saeed Alalkim Director of Traffic and Patrol Police, Ras Al Khaimah, said accident happened when 24-year-old RSS was overtaking a truck on a two-lane road but was surprised by a vehicle from the opposite direction; he slowed down to come back to his lane behind the truck but couldn’t estimate the distances and collided with the truck.
Police, ambulance and civil defence vehicles were rushed to the scene and all the injured were taken to the near hospital where the 26-year-old young Emirati woman succumbed to injuries.
The woman was injured seriously because of the strong impact of accident with the truck.
Colonel Ali appealed all drivers to adhere to speed limits on the streets, take caution and pay attention while driving.
