A 26-year-old former Indian model, Archana Pandey, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself.
The model-turned-financial consultant was found dead Monday at her residence in a suburb in Mumbai.
She hung herself from a ceiling fan and according to police officials - committed suicide a couple of days ago.
Indian newspapers report that the incident came to light after the neighbours complained to the police of foul smell emanating from her house in a posh Mumbai high-rise.
Her neighbours rang the doorbell and when no one responded, they contacted the police
The police went to the location where she was found dead and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
The deceased left a suicide note in which she held her boyfriend responsible for the extreme step, police said.
A manhunt has been launched for the unidentified man.
According to the police, Pandey had been staying on a rented apartment. She quit the modeling profession in 2009 and started working in a production house.
Archana was a known face in the modeling industry and had also starred in many south Indian films.
