An Indian nurse has been found dead in her Al Nahda apartment in Sharjah on Tuesday afternoon.
Siji Suresh, 29, a nurse at a hospital in Dubai was found dead by her husband when he returned from work.
According to family sources, the couple was living on the first floor of the Al Zahra building in Al Nahda, Sharjah.
“The body was found by her husband who works in Silicon Oasis. The reason for the death is not yet confirmed,” said the source, who confirmed having seen the body.
Sharjah Police have reportedly sent a forensic team to the apartment and are investigating the case.
“The body has been transferred to the forensic lab and finger-print experts are on the case,” another family source said.
The deceased hails from Punalur in the Kollam district of Kerala in India.
The hospital in Dubai, where the deceased worked, chose not to comment at this time.
The hospital CEO’s office said: “We are unable to comment on the case. We cannot confirm whether she was working with us or whether she committed suicide. It is under investigation and we cannot make a comment.”
Social workers who are helping the family said they cannot rule out suicide at this point in time.
