If you are a regular cab user, how was your experience with the driver. Can you identify the most common trait in cabbies in the UAE? Easy Taxi has brought out some interesting research on the behaviour of taxi drivers. Below are some of the common types.

The talkative

Whatever the subject is, he will talk about it for hours. He will share his opinion on everything. If you are tired and want to sleep, just put headphones on. He will keep talking, but at least you will listen to some background music!

The silent

He’s the opposite of the talkative. There are days when you might want to have a chat, and your taxi driver might seem to be the perfect company. Well, the silent will keep it short and answer your questions with a “YES” or a “NO”.

The inquisitive

You know the one who forces making conversation and tries by asking questions like “How many brothers and sisters do you have?” “Are you married?”. Awkward.

The proud father of two

His son just graduated from elementary school and he’s so proud he’ll tell you all about it. While driving he will take out the picture of his champion and will ask you if you find him handsome. It goes without saying that you have to agree, otherwise you will ruin his day.

The one with a social media page

He’s in his early twenties and looks so young that you wonder whether he has his driving licence or not. As soon as you get in the cab he asks you if you have a Facebook account and requests that you like his page. You nod, say that you will but unfortunately the Facebook app on your mobile is not working at the moment “you know, iOS 8 problems”

The engineer

As soon as you start talking to him he will surprise you with his knowledge and educational background. He is in fact studying for his bachelors degree. You compliment him and admire his tenacity.

The perfect ride

He shows up on time, opens your door, if you want to talk he’s a great conversationalist, and if you want to read a book he will turn the back seat light on for you. His driving is smooth and safe. The car smells good and is very clean. He will get you to your destination safely and shows gratitude.
