The 43rd National Day celebrations in Dubai will take place on December 1 at the Burj Al Arab area from late afternoon with number of roads likely to be affected by heavy traffic, according to a traffic advisory issued by Dubai World Trade Centre.
“Jumeirah Road, Al Sufouh Road, Umm Suqeim Road, Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road and Al Manara Road may be affected by heavy traffic. Please avoid these roads and use alternative routes,” urges the advisory.
Abu Dhabi Corniche fully dedicated to celebrations and parade
The Safety & Traffic Solutions Committee announced that Abu Dhabi Corniche will be fully dedicated to the celebrations and parade of the 43rd UAE National Day. The traffic amendments will be in effect as of Tuesday December 2, 2014, from 5pm onwards.
In a statement it issued, the Committee said, ''All vehicles heading from inside the city towards the breakwater area via the Corniche will have to use the roundabout near the fruits and vegetables market at Mina Zayed area.
“While all vehicles leaving the breakwater area will have to use the road around Marina Mall and head towards the Bateen area.''
Accordingly, no left turns and U-turns on the Corniche will be permitted during the parade. Furthermore, the Committee invites the public and road users to cooperate, be cautious and adhere to all traffic rules and regulations. All drivers in the parade are also reminded to respect pedestrians’ safety.
