Forget Samsung and Apple, here is the smartphone of the presidents with dual-screen in the UAE.
Russia’s Yota Devices has launched its Android-enabled double screen Yotaphone 2 in the UAE, priced at Dh3,000.
Vlad Martynov, CEO of Yota Devices, said the firm has tied up with Etisalat for a special package whereby it’ll be free for consumers buying the phone with the package. It also tied up with Jumbo Electronics for after-sales service.
The smartphone, also known as Russia’s iPhone, hit the headlines globally last month when the Russian President Vladimir Putin gave his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping YotaPhone 2 when they met in Beijing during Asia Pacific meeting.
The front display is a high-definition 1080p Amoled screen intended mainly for social networking, browsing, watching videos or playing games.
Once users turn the phone around, they see the other front screen which uses always-on display, offering 180-degree viewing. The company suggests the other screen is ideal for e-reading, notifications and outdoor visibility.
Yota Devices claims that the always-on display is up to 7 times more power efficient than the Amoled HD screen and lasts up to three times longer based on usage that involves reading, messaging and calling.

Weighing 145 grams, it’s quipped with 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash and a front-facing 2MP camera.
Also equipped with Gorilla Glass 3 on both the sides, the smartphone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.2Ghz quad-core processor with 2GB Ram and 32GB eMMC.
