For Ranbir Kapoor his relationship with Deepika Padukone is for "closure" and for Deepika - "It's about accepting what life gives you. And not questioning it."
But the stories connecting both the actors don’t seem to end. Their movie 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' (YJHD) added fuel to the fire.
In fact, YJHD's marketing campaign capitalised on the history the two shared - a relationship that hit the doldrums with some bitterness from Padukone's side when it ended.
The blitzkrieg promotional campaign continued to harp on their relationship. The co-stars show immense camaraderie, spoke how they adored each other, how they want to be the modern Raj Kapoor-Nargis Dutt, how they feel special for each other.

After the release of the movie now there is actually closure to all the affection they showered upon each other in front of the media.
So much so for the special bond, Ranbir and Deepika did not even meet each other after the release.
All for publicity!
In a candid interview to Times of India, Ranbir said, "Deepika and me have fortunately done a successful film together and we have been in a relationship in the past, but it is hard for people to imagine how we have both moved on in our lives.
"She is doing well and I am proud of her achievements, but we have not been in touch after YJHD. I hope people can distinguish between us and that we are working together only as professionals.
Ranbir added, "There is nothing common in our lives other than the films we have done or will do."
While Ranbir distanced himself from his ex-girlfriend, Deepika in another interview spoke very fondly of him, "We share something special. There's nothing to feel threatened about; it's not that kind of an equation."
While one feels detached, the other feels special about the relationship!

However, in the same interview Ranbir admitted that Katrina Kaif (present girlfriend) is indeed a special person in his life.
During the tete-a-tete, Ranbir was explaining how he detaches himself from a movie after the release, those kinds of detachment works for him. But at the same time he mentioned, "I am attached to a few people in my life and I can give my life for them."
On being asked about the people for whom he would give away his life, the Barfi! star mentioned his parents, his dear friend (director) Ayan Mukerji, Rohit Dhawan, Aisha Divetri (his school friend) and Katrina Kaif.
And while naming Katrina, he emphasised that she is a special person in his life.
