UAE telecom operators are currently offering huge discounts on both new as well as old smartphones. Etisalat is currently offering a limited period ‘smartphone sale’, which runs until the end of this month (March 31).
As part of the ‘mega promotion’ for Wasel prepaid mobile customers, the telecom operator is giving up to 50 per cent discount on latest smartphone devices and up to Dh50 bonus credit every month.
The sweetest among the deals are on the various variants of Apple’s iPhone, with a 50 per cent discount on 16GB iPhone 5c and iPhone 5.
Residents can get the 16GB iPhone 5c for as little as Dh999, a 50 per cent discount on the list price of Dh1,999. But that’s not all. Along with it, Etisalat is also offering free talk time of Dh25 per month for 12 months, which works out to Dh300 per annum, in effect slashing the price of the 16GB iPhone 5c to Dh699 until the promotion lasts.
A similar 50 per cent discount is on offer for 16GB and 32GB versions of the iPhone 5, with an after-discount sale price of Dh1,099 and Dh1,299, respectively. The telecom operator is offering a Dh25 monthly talk time bonus along with the deal, in effect slashing the price of 32GB iPhone 5 to Dh999 and the 16GB iPhone 5 to Dh799.
While the operator is offering the iPhone 5s for Dh2,099 (original list price: Dh2,599), it is giving away Dh50 free talk time a month with it, which works out to Dh600 per annum, effectively slashing the price down to Dh1,499 for customers.
The latest models are also available on discounts, with the iPhone 6, a 16GB variant of which was earlier being retailed by Etisalat for Dh2,749, now available for Dh2,499. Accounting for the free Dh600 talk time, the effective price for the 16GB version works out to Dh1,899, a Dh850, or 31 per cent, discount on the list price.
A similar Dh850 discount is also on offer for the bigger, iPhone 6 Plus iteration of the Apple smartphone. Available for Dh3,149 pre-promotion, Etisalat is now offering the 16Gb iPhone 6 Plus for Dh2,899. Accounting for the Dh600 free talk time, the effective price works out to Dh2,299.
