Social workers and officials have urged residents to stay closer to their workplaces in order to help boost their efficiency as well as lead a quality personal life.
Driving long distances every day cause mental and physical stress which will adversely affect people’s life, they add.
Dr. Ghada Al Sheikh, Family and Social Consultant, in Abu Dhabi, says excessive driving can take a toll on one’s health and drain patience.
Especially, driving during peak-hour traffic is one of the reasons of stress, she adds.
Therefore, residing closer to one’s workplace can help lead more positive and healthier life, says Dr Ghada.
Dr. Maha Ahmed Abdel Halim , Specialist Psychiatric, Dar Zayed family care , also confirms that excessive driving daily in rush traffic can lead to chronic illnesses apart from uncalled for accidents because a stressed out driver cannot concentrate behind the wheels.
