Hiring in retail has picked up significantly in the UAE as well as the region. A big player, Alshaya, is looking to add to its headcount for its operations within the GCC.
With stores such as Starbucks, H&M, Mothercare, Debenhams, The Cheesecake Factory, Pottery Barn, KidZania and others, the company is looking for right candidates across its different departments.
Whether it’s in recruitment division, audit, technical, project management, communications, HR, and many others, the group is looking for people to handle its expanding business.
No ballpark salary figure or general monetary benefits have been specified but the company says it is committed to the growth and development of its people.
“As a performance-based business we seek to reward individuals for their commitment to our success. We pay competitive market rate salaries and every employee has the opportunity to benefit from our incentive programmes. We offer a range of benefits to our employees, notably our Advantage Card, which gives people significant discounts on the brands we operate. Depending on the role and seniority, we also provide healthcare, schooling benefits and return-home flight allowances,” states the retail giant.
As part of its employee welfare scheme, the company also provides accommodation for an initial period upon arrival for new employees. They cover flight costs necessary for employees to take up a new role as well as essential paperwork costs.
The company operates over 2,500 stores across eight divisions such as fashion and footwear, health and beauty, food service, optics, pharmacy, home furnishings, office supplies and leisure and entertainment.
Alshaya’s stores are in operation in 19 markets across the Middle East and North Africa, Russia, Turkey and Europe and the company employs more than 36,000 people from over 110 nationalities.
